I have been part of this special needs theater croup for a year now and we had our first play yesterday. Getting chosen made us feel both exited and little nervous. We had an audience of approximately 50 people. Our play was completely improvised so there was a fear of the unknown present because our audience got to decide whats gonna happen. we knew our characters and some of the scenarios but that was all.

All went well. I forgot my nervousness shortly after we started and our audience seemed to enjoy it. We had so much fun on the stage and it made our croup even stronger. previously i had been on the stage eight years ago so it was a bit odd to be acting again. My character was a magician. I have always been interested in magic tricks and figuring out how those are done so this character felt fitting to me.

Picture by me. (we got a lollipop, bubbles and a festival pass to take home with us)

we watched a few plays together there was also face painting and this sensory room for resting. My country has multiple special needs theater groups. we all came together to hang out and enjoy theater.

A few hours before leaving we had a little party together were people were dancing and chasing soap bubbles. what an amazing feeling of community there was. This was a fun way to celebrate our differences. ❤

In case you are worried for Covid perspective, people were wearing masks, hand sanitizer was everywhere and nobody came there sick. so we should be okay. Also the place was huge so people were able to keep safe distance from others. we are not talking about thousands of people more like 150 max so our festival was on the smaller scale anyways plus i am fully vaccinated. ❤
