Neuro-psychological testing

Today was the day of my appointment with a Neuro-psychologist. Completing the tests took me tree hours in total including a few short breaks. He wanted to test things like my cognitive functioning, memory and learning abilities as a part of the work capability assessment. Going to appointments is always a bit anxiety provoking but the psychologist made me feel at ease during the process and there was plenty of time to complete the tasks, some of witch were difficult for me,especially the ones having to do with math or remembering long lists of words.

At one point he read me a short story and then my task was to tell it back to him to see how much i remember about it. This turned out to be surprisingly challenging for me. It was not that surprising to hear my results are at a lower level comparing to others my age. So there certainly is some difficulties showing up. At least now i will finally have proof about this.

we are not done yet there is an appointment with a psychiatrist coming up because i do also have mental health things going on that are affecting my day to day functioning, so we can discuss the possibility of starting a medication. Ultimately it is my decision but i am open to having that conversation. Because my moods have been on a roller coaster these few years. so we will have to see what the psychiatrist recommends. But the good thing is that my mental health is now better than it was last winter. So the journey towards solutions continues.. ❤
