For anyone who experiences periods can probably relate to those uncomfortable cramps that sometimes come along with your cycle. Here’s some of my favorite ways to make that monthly occurrence more comfortable.
- Movement. Yes , I know the last thing we want to do is to move our bodies when the cramps are bad. But trust me on this it truly helps. Usually my movement of choice is some light yoga or walking. You can find some yoga practices tailored specifically for that time of the month.
- A Wheat pillow. The warmth of the pillow can make a huge difference in easing those cramps as warmth relaxes your muscles. ( a hot water bottle will also do the trick)
- Pain medicine. This is self explanatory.
- Herbal supplements. Chamomile extract is my personal favorite that’s relatively safe to try out after making sure that there’s no allergies. It has been used for ages for different digestive issues.
- Raspberry leaf tea.
- Breathing exercises. If your body is tense it makes everything feel worse, so sometimes the simple act of taking some deep breaths can also help.
If the pain is stopping you from doing daily activities please consult your doctor.
