My primary care doctor made a referral to the surgery center but i don`t need surgery.

Me and my mom went to our local hospital for a consultation. It was one of the quickest appointments ever,it took us under ten minutes. The doctor quickly looked at my eyes and said. “ your lower eyelids look normal there is no need for surgery, I have no clue why you got sent here in the first place” at that point i just felt kinda confused then he adds “ because we are at the surgery center I don`t have the necessary equipment for a tear duct irrigation here”

So basically, now i have to wait for another appointment at the eye clinic so he can then check my tear ducts and decide what we do next. If my tear ducts are blocked then i might need to be put under anesthesia again in order for them to do another procedure. But for the first appointment there will be no anesthesia needed.

I am glad that there is not a need for surgery but it is certainly annoying having to now wait even longer before getting my eye problem sorted. I completely trust my primary care doctor but sometimes wrong diagnosis happen especially if someones case needs a specialist. primary care doctors have a limited amounts of information and skills so this is understandable. Lets hope that i will get the new appointment soon!
